I am always finding great craft ideas, how-to's and inspirations online, and my bookmarks are getting crazy mixed up and hard to sort through. So, I am going to blog all the great ideas I find. Now it's one stop shopping for all my favorite craft ideas!!! :)

All posts will contain a link under the picture to the tutorial/place of origin, and the name and link to the creator. I in no way claim credit for ANY of these projects (unless stated otherwise - in which I DID create it.)

The Lakeside Collection

I received a catalog in the mail from Lakeside Collection the other day. It had a few really cute things in it along with a few items that would be easy-ish to make. I tore out a few pages to keep so I could remember them, and when I went to put them somewhere I remembered I should just put them on here! :)

you can see their catalogs at Lakeside.com
or click on the pictures for the product info if your interested.

I've always liked these, and I especially like the 3 tier one. I don't think it would be too bad to put one of these together. All you would need was some plywood, add a few supports under the shelves, It kind of looks like there is a bar on the top shelf to keep those top baskets in place. You could easily make your own baskets as well - there are plenty of tutorials online. :)

  • The 3-Tier Organizers (22-5/8" x 21" x 8-1/4") feature 4 small drawers on the top tier, 3 medium drawers in the center tier, and 2 large drawers on the bottom tier.
  • The Towers (32-1/8" x 10-3/4" x 8-3/4") feature 4 stacked drawers.)

There are also two cute bag ideas for the holiday season. It would be easy to make a few on your own. One with fabric, one with
paper - either way cute design ideas.

This is a fun idea for kids. Anyway, I don't know how I would make it exactly, but if base would be easy anyway, though I'm sure I never will make it, but it's cute all the same. :)

This would be really easy to make and I love this idea! It's a calendar for Kindergarten through 8th grade. You have a page for the year, plus at the top a space for the class picture (the picture of the whole class, along with their school picture). I love that there is a place for the child to write their own name so you can see how their handwriting is improving, and also just some basic info/memories to keep about that year in school. How fun! I want to do this for my children. I'm not a big scrap booker, so simple things like this where you can fill in just a little info is nice. :)

I don't remember seeing this in the catalog, and though I think it looks kind of dumb, it's not a bad idea! :) Though patent pending! no stealing this idea....

Super cute square napkin bibs

I love this style! The square shape is so much fun!

info found here (along with a video and demo) or below:

Materials:
Cloth napkin and/or fabric
Button
Sewing machine

Directions:

1. Cut a 10 1/2 x 16" piece from a patterned cloth napkin and a solid color of fabric. Layer together, right sides facing.

2. Cut a 3 3/4 x 7" rectangle from the top center of the pieces.

3. Sew a 1/2" seam around the bib, leaving the bottom open. Miter the corners.

4. Turn right side out, fold the bottom ends under and press.

5. Sew the bib closed by straight stitching two lines across the bottom (you could also edge stitch around the bib and close the bottom that way).

6. Sew a buttonhole on the right strap and a button on the left.

Click here for bib template (this link doesn't work, but you can go to the website from the link above, or leave me your email and I will email it to you)

NOTE: The final bib size might vary by a couple of inches depending on the size of your napkin. You should be able to get two bibs from each napkin (or fat quarter of fabric) by folding it in half.

'Sew' many feet!

I got my new sewing machine...and there are a lot of feet that came with it and I have not idea what to do with them. Singer has a page with lots of video clips of how to's with each foot. Hopefully I'll get these all down! :) With this new machine I feel like I'm learning to sew all over again!
